This Return and Refund Policy sets forth the terms under which Plutodale Ventures Private Limited ("Qube", "we", "us", or "our") manages requests related to the return, replacement, and refund of hardware devices, subscription fees, and recharge amounts processed through our platform. By purchasing hardware, subscribing to Qube Services, or using the Qube recharge system, you agree to the terms outlined in this Policy.
1. Scope of the Policy
This Policy applies to all customers who purchase or rent Qube smart meters, subscribe to platform services, or use any associated software, dashboards, or online recharge tools. It also applies to building owners, property managers, tenants, and authorized users interacting with the Qube ecosystem. The Policy does not govern financial arrangements between tenants and property owners, as Qube is not a party to such transactions.
2. Returns and Replacement of Hardware
Hardware purchased from Qube may be eligible for return or replacement only under specific conditions. A return will be accepted solely when the device is delivered in a defective or non-functional state upon arrival, or where a manufacturing defect is identified within the applicable warranty period. The customer must notify Qube of any such issues within seven (7) days of delivery in order to qualify for an immediate replacement evaluation.
Devices that fail due to manufacturing defects or internal component malfunctions may be eligible for replacement or repair under the warranty terms applicable to the specific device model and service plan. Qube reserves the right to inspect the device, validate the defect, and determine whether replacement, repair, or service is warranted.
Devices damaged due to tampering, unauthorized modifications, physical mishandling, incorrect installation, fire, water exposure, electrical surges caused by faulty external wiring, or any misuse will not be eligible for return, replacement, or warranty service. Hardware returned in non-original condition or found to be tampered with may be rejected and returned to the customer at their cost.
3. Refund Policy for Hardware Purchases
Payments made for hardware purchases are non-refundable once the order has been processed, dispatched, or installed. Refunds are not provided due to change of mind, change in property requirements, dissatisfaction with features, or operational misunderstandings after installation.
If a device is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect at the time of delivery and cannot be repaired or replaced, Qube may, at its sole discretion, offer a refund. Such refunds will be issued only after the defective device has been returned and inspected. Refunds, where approved, will be processed through the original payment method whenever feasible.
Under no circumstances will Qube provide refunds for devices that are functional, fully operational, or damaged due to external factors beyond Qube's control.
4. Refund Policy for Rented Hardware
For devices rented from Qube, the rental charges paid are non-refundable. A customer who discontinues the rental service before the end of the billing cycle is not eligible for a refund for the unused portion of the rental period.
Security deposits collected for rented hardware are refundable only upon the return of the device in good working condition without tampering or damage. If the device is found to be damaged, altered, or misused, Qube may deduct repair costs or withhold the full deposit, depending on the severity of the issue. The determination of such deductions will be made solely by Qube.
5. Subscription Fees and Platform Charges
Subscription fees paid for access to Qube dashboards, API services, analytics, reporting tools, meter management modules, or any software-based features are non-refundable. These fees include monthly or annual subscriptions and any recurring platform charges.
Subscribers choosing to discontinue service will not receive a prorated refund for the remaining period of the subscription. Qube does not offer refunds for partial usage, unutilized features, trial periods, or unused subscription credits.
If Qube terminates an account due to violation of Terms & Conditions, fraudulent activity, misuse of the platform, or security concerns, no refund will be provided for any subscription fees already paid.
6. Recharge Balance and Tenant Refunds
Qube provides the technology platform through which tenants and occupants may recharge their prepaid electricity meters. However, Qube is not the merchant-of-record for these tenant transactions. Funds collected through recharges are settled directly into the bank account of the property owner or building management, and are not held or controlled by Qube.
Because of this structure, recharge amounts are strictly non-refundable through Qube. Any request to refund unused balance, incorrect recharge, or occupant disputes must be handled directly by the building owner or property manager. Qube bears no responsibility or liability for balances, settlements, or disputes between tenants and property management.
7. Processing Time for Eligible Refunds
If a refund is approved under the conditions explicitly mentioned in this Policy, Qube will initiate the refund process within ten (10) working days from the date of approval. The time taken for the amount to reflect in the customer's account may vary depending on banking channels and payment intermediaries.
8. Non-Returnable and Non-Refundable Items
The following items or payments are strictly non-returnable and non-refundable: fully functional hardware, hardware damaged due to external factors, rental fees already paid, subscription fees, platform fees, or SaaS charges, recharge amounts credited to tenant meters, inspection charges, installation costs, or service visit fees, and deposits forfeited due to device tampering. No exceptions will be made unless required by applicable law.
9. Policy Abuse and Fraud Prevention
Qube reserves the right to deny returns, replacements, or refunds if the request appears to involve misuse, fraud, repeated claims, tampering, misrepresentation of device condition, or any violation of Qube's Terms & Conditions. In such cases, Qube may suspend service access or pursue appropriate legal remedies.
10. Changes to This Policy
Qube may update or modify this Return and Refund Policy at any time to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. Updates will be posted on our website, and continued use of Qube's Services following the publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
