This Privacy Policy explains how Plutodale Ventures Private Limited ("Qube", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the use of our smart energy meters, recharge and billing platform, dashboards, APIs, websites, applications, and all related services ("Services"). By accessing or using Qube's Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Introduction
Qube operates a hardware-enabled SaaS ecosystem designed for energy metering, billing, and property management. As part of providing these Services, we collect and process information from property owners, managers, authorized staff, tenants, and system users. We are committed to handling all personal data responsibly and in accordance with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act), as well as globally accepted privacy standards. This Policy describes the categories of personal data we collect, the purposes for which it is processed, the rights available to you, and our approach to data protection.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that is necessary for delivering and improving our Services. This includes information that users provide directly during account creation or device setup, information generated through the operation of smart meters, and information collected automatically through website interactions, analytics tools, server-side logs, or through integrations with third-party service providers. Such information may include personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, property details, device identifiers, usage statistics, billing information, recharge history, IP addresses, browser data, and anonymized behavioral metrics.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to provide, maintain, and improve the Qube ecosystem. This includes enabling device activation, processing recharges, generating bills, displaying meter data to authorized users, ensuring platform reliability, and delivering technical or customer support. Personal data may also be used for account authentication, fraud detection, system audits, compliance purposes, and for meeting legal or regulatory obligations. Additionally, we may use aggregated or anonymized data to enhance product performance, optimize energy reporting, derive analytical insights, and improve user experience across our applications and dashboards.
4. Payments and Financial Data
When payments are made through our platform—such as meter recharges, subscriptions, or hardware purchases—the transaction is facilitated through third-party payment processors and banking partners. We do not store full payment credentials such as card numbers, UPI PINs, net-banking passwords, or wallet security information. All such data is processed securely by authorized payment intermediaries under their respective compliance frameworks. Funds for prepaid recharges are settled directly between the payer and the property owner or manager, and Qube does not act as the merchant of record for tenant recharges.
5. Device & Usage Data
Our smart meters, dashboards, and applications may automatically transmit device identifiers, consumption logs, recharge information, operational status, and other technical data. This information enables accurate billing, energy monitoring, and system health diagnostics. Collection of such data is essential for the functioning of prepaid energy meters and associated management tools. The data is stored securely and is accessible only to authorized users associated with the property or account.
6. Analytics, Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use a combination of standard analytics tools, including Google Analytics and server-side monitoring systems, to understand user interactions, improve platform performance, and ensure smooth service delivery. These tools may use cookies, beacons, scripts, or similar technologies to collect information about page activity, session behavior, device characteristics, geographic estimates, and traffic patterns. Cookies may also be used to retain login sessions, enable faster access, and enhance personalization. You may choose to control cookies through your browser settings, although certain features may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on third-party providers to support essential operations, which may include payment gateways, SMS and email communication services, analytics platforms, hosting infrastructures, cloud service providers, identity management tools, and security partners. These providers are contractually bound to protect personal information and may access data only to the extent necessary for delivering their services. We do not sell personal data to third parties, nor do we permit the use of personal information for advertising without consent. All third-party contractors are required to follow industry-standard confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
8. Data Storage, Security & Retention
We store personal information in secure environments designed to prevent unauthorized access, destruction, misuse, modification, or disclosure. Qube implements administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards consistent with recognized security standards. Personal data is retained only for as long as it is required to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain financial records, or support the ongoing operation of user accounts. If data is no longer required, it is securely deleted, anonymized, or archived based on applicable retention rules.
9. Sharing of Information
We may share personal information with authorized personnel, property owners, managers, or operators who are responsible for managing buildings or devices linked to their accounts. Data may also be shared with governmental authorities, law enforcement agencies, courts, or regulators when legally required or when necessary to protect Qube's rights or the rights of others. We may disclose limited information to third-party partners strictly for operational needs described earlier. Under no circumstances do we engage in the commercial sale or exchange of personal data.
10. Your Rights Under Applicable Law
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, update, or delete certain information, the right to withdraw consent, the right to request data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with the appropriate authority. Requests can be submitted by contacting us through the details provided in this Policy. We may require reasonable verification to ensure that data access is granted only to authorized individuals.
11. Children's Privacy
Qube's Services are intended for property owners, managers, and authorized adults. While we do not enforce an age restriction, our Services are not intentionally designed for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information of minors without appropriate consent. If such information is inadvertently collected, we will take steps to remove it as required by applicable law.
12. International Data Transfers
Although Qube is operated in India, some third-party service providers supporting our infrastructure may process or store data in other jurisdictions. In such cases, we ensure that the transfer of information complies with applicable data-protection requirements and that appropriate contractual safeguards are in place. By using our Services, you consent to such cross-border processing where necessary.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may modify or update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our Services, legal obligations, or data-protection practices. When significant changes occur, we will notify users through email or platform notifications where appropriate. Continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
